The 2019 pro-abortion rights agenda in Texas
This week Progress Texas and abortion advocates from across Texas came together to launch a pro-abortion rights legislative agenda that stands up for health care, reproductive rights, and reproductive justice.
The Whole Woman's Health Act, also known as SB150, has been filed by State Senator Jose Rodriguez (D-El Paso), states that every woman in the state has the fundamental right to a safe and legal abortion. This is just one of the dozens of bills moving through the state legislature to improve the quality of our reproductive health care system for Texans on all walks of life.
Sign on to be Abortion Out Loud and make your voice heard on this critical issue.
Our comprehensive agenda includes sex education, extending Medicaid coverage, and fighting against the barriers that keep everyday Texans from receiving quality reproductive health care. The Trust Respect Access Coalition includes Progress Texas, ACLU of Texas, The Afiya Center, Deeds Not Words, Jane’s Due Process, Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity, NARAL Pro-Choice Texas, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, Texas Equal Access Fund, Texas Freedom Network, and Whole Woman’s Health and Whole Woman’s Health Alliance.
Excerpts from the press conference include:
