Donald Trump has named Neil Gorsuch as his nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court.

America deserves a consensus nominee for the Supreme Court who will follow the law, not one that will rubber stamp a Trump agenda.

Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn both sit on the Judiciary Committee, thus the people of Texas have twice as many opportunities for our Senators to ask tough questions needed of a nominee who may be expected to rule on highly questionable White House policies.

Does Judge Gorsuch believe that the President does not have a conflict of interest? Does he believe that travel bans should apply to people based on religion?

Tonight Senator Ted Cruz was interviewed on CNN and noted that Judge Gorsuch received Senate approval 10 years ago, and he ended the interview with the question, "What's changed since then?"

What's changed is Gorsuch's track record.

Over the past 10 years, Judge Neil Gorsuch has amassed a list of rulings favoring corporations over consumers and the environment and sided with Hobby Lobby in a case that denied women employees health insurance coverage for contraception.

Questions also remain around Donald Trump's conflicts of interest and possible violation of the Emoluments Clause (which restricts elected officials from receiving money, gifts, or anything of value from a foreign government) that could arise from his various hotels and investments. This is in addition to potentially illegal federal gag orders and first amendment-violations such as religious registries and so much more.
