Overwhelming majority of the Texas House of Representatives vote to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton
TEXAS – Just days before the end of the 88th legislative session, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suspended after 121 Texas House members voted to impeach him. The 20 articles of impeachment included bribery, dereliction of duty, and obstruction of justice.
“He’s earned every article, and Paxton’s years in office, riddled with fraud, corruption, and misinformation, are justly paused today, ” said Kathleen Thompson, executive director at Progress Texas. “While Texans wait on the actions of the Senate, we celebrate the historic vote, bucking MAGA intimidation from Paxton himself, and twice impeached former president Donald Trump.”
